The Rev. John H. Evans

     John, born in Providence RI, is a graduate of The Yale Berkeley Divinity Schoolat Yale University (1943), ordained a Deacon (1943) and then a Priest while at St. Stephen's Church, Pittsfield, MA(1944).
     John served in various capacities at The Seamen's Church Institute; Marine Hospital; Ellis Island (all in New York); St. Paul's Church, Englewood, NJ; St. Mathew's Church, Paramus, NJ; St. James Church, N. Providence, RI; Mary Warren School, Troy, NY; and St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Charlestown, NH; Church of the Good Shepard; All Saints Chapel, Whalom, MA.
     John also served as Priest in Charge at Holy Cross, Middletown, RI for 10 years. He retired after 61 years of ministry.
     In addition to his religious calling, John is an author, having published two books. John is also an accomplished musician, being a talented harpist. He is known in many areas as "The Singing Preacher".
